Deserved win for Lowson

LOWSON started the new season with a win against Inchture Athletic after an entertaining game which saw both sides play good football with little to choose between them.

Lowson created the best chances early on when a Suttie free kick was driven wide by Casey. Then Hampton saw an effort saved by the visiting ‘keeper.

Inchture hit back without really troubling the home side, their main threat coming from two corners which were headed over the bar. Half time arrived with the scoreline still blank.

The second half was even with both defences keeping chances to a minimum. Inchture sent a free kick just over the bar, then a Smith header was well saved before the visiting team took the lead in the 70th minute, a free kick into the box being slotted past Munro in the Lowson goal.

The Forfar side hit back and levelled the scoring within five minutes, Crichton equalising with a fine strike. Munro then made a great save to keep the scores level, Middleton helping out by clearing the loose ball.

Lowson began to get on top of the game and scored two goals late on to win the three points. Mathieson scoring both, the first a great strike into the top corner, the second a strike from the edge of the box.

Lowson saw out the remaining minutes to seal a deserved victory.
