Michael Travis says there’s plenty more to come from Forfar Athletic as the Loons returned to the summit of League One on Saturday.
Goals from Derek Young and Omar Kader saw off Brechin City and Travis was thrilled that the visitors coped with a fearsome assault from their rivals, before going on to win the game comfortably.
And the young defender believes Forfar are nowhere near their best yet - despite going to the top of the league for the second time this campaign.
He said: “We’re delighted, you always like to get a win over your biggest rivals.
“We’ve still got so much to come. We won but we didn’t play anywhere near as well as we could in the final third.
“Obviously it’s a clean sheet as well so I’m delighted. You’re always going to come here and Brechin, they’re struggling down at the bottom, but they’re always going to start well against us.
“We coped with them though then we’ve got the goal on the break. Foxy did well with the ball in and Young’s scored. It’s what we do well, we break quick and get the ball into the box.
“We’re delighted to go back to the top of the league, it’s early doors but hopefully we can stay there.
“You saw last season when we play well we create a lot of chances, and that’s still to come for us this year. It’ll come though. We have a very good team.”
