Forfar Athletic have completed the signing of Dale Hilson on a one-year contract.

The 21-year-old striker has agreed a permanent deal with the Station Park club after spending three years on loan with the Loons.

And the former Dundee United lad said there was only one place he was heading when the Arabs terminated his contract last month.

Dale exclusively told the Dispatch: “I’m delighted to sign, I’m excited and I’m looking forward to the season starting. The amount of time I’ve been here, I know everyone at the club from Linda the tea lady to the chairman, and everybody’s always been brilliant to me.

“I was delighted that there was interest in me and I was happy to sign again. I’ve enjoyed the last three years here, I’ve enjoyed every minute and if I was coming part-time I was only ever coming to Forfar.

“It’s a very well-run club and I just want to come in and do a good job for them.”

Manager Dick Campbell was thrilled to secure Hilson’s signature and believes the acquisition, his third after bringing in Danny Denholm and Derek Young, sends a blatant message to the rest of the clubs in League One about what Forfar want to achieve this season.

Campbell said: “This sends across a clear message about how importantly Forfar are taking this season in terms of going forward and being a serious threat.

“It’s a combination of things that have gone right to get Dale here. He came to us at the start of pre-season and said he wanted to come to us, so immediately we got moving.

“We are absolutely delighted to sign a player of his calibre.”
