FORFAR Boys Club Under-10s returned to action after a three week break with two goal-laden performances against Dryburgh at the academy playing fields on Sunday.

In the first match Robbie McLauchlan flicked home a Robbie Davidson cross from close-range to give the home side the lead after three minutes.

Cameron Fleming then set up Euan Miller whose side-footed effort was well saved by the Dryburgh keeper.

Calum Kelman made it two in 10 minutes with a fine individual effort, only for the visitors to pull a goal back after an excellent lobbed finish left Jamie Noble with no chance.

Noble came to Forfar’s rescue a few minutes later with a fine save before McLauchlan’s shot in the last move of the half was blocked by the Dundee keeper.

In the second half Forfar made it three on 26 minutes when Fleming’s shot hit the woodwork and Miller fired home the rebound. Miller then hit the crossbar with a long-range shot before Dryburgh fought back and twice hit the post in the closing stages.

Team: Noble, Balfour, Miller, Kelman, R Davidson, Fleming, McLauchlan. Subs - C Davidson, McSherry.

A quickfire start by Liam Jones gave Forfar the advantage in the second match.

He scored four goals in the first seven minutes to give the hosts an unassailable lead. It could have been five had Sean Tait’s curling effort not hit the post.

Dryburgh began to settle and came close to grabbing a goal when they hit the crossbar on 13 minutes.

Jones made it a half to remember when he added his fifth on the half-time whistle.

In the second half Lewis Davison extended the lead when he weaved his way into the box and beat the keeper from close range.

Adam Macdairmid fired over the bar before Aaron Morrison added a seventh in 24 minutes.

Three minutes later it was eight when Jack Neave set up Tait to beat the keeper from inside the box.

Team: Noble, Harrison, Forbes, Morrison, Tait, Davison, Jones. Subs - Neave, Macdairmid, Short.
