FORFAR Athletic FC is preparing for their much anticipated annual Sportsman’s Dinner.
The event, now in its 18th year, will take place at the usual venue of the Reid Hall on Friday, May 17.
The organisers are delighted to have put together an entertaining line-up with all three speakers making their first appearance at the event.
Fred Eyre, Phil Differ and local man Paul Reid will all be entertaining on the night.
A spokesman said: “Lancastrian Fred Eyre will be heading across the border to entertain the audience with his fund of stories from his varied career as a professional footballer and coach with a multitude of lower league clubs, prior to embarking on a successful business career.
“He is also now a renowned author and radio pundit.
“West of Scotland based Phil Differ is making a big name for himself on the after dinner circuit these days.
“Phil, a comedian in his own right, is most notably a former producer and director as well as the main script write for BBC television’s ‘Only an Excuse’ as well s contributing to Off the Ball and other well know radio shows.”
He added: “Keeping the local flag flying on the night will be hilarious Carnoustie-based sporting impressionist Paul Reid and compere for the evening is the Loons’ own Dick Campbell.”
Directors have stated that a table for ten will cost £350 and around 70 per cent of the available tables have already been booked.
