Excellent run of form for Stephen

Forfar 10K winner Stephen Connor continued his excellent run of form on Sunday by taking more than 15 minutes of his personal best at the Moray Marathon.

Despite having to battle strong head winds on the latter part of the course Connor broke the three hour barrier for the first time to finish in a commendable two hours 57 minutes and 45 seconds, a result which also saw him take the family marathon crown from his father Vince whose 2.59 record had stood since the mid-1980s.

Meanwhile, Forfar Road Runner ladies champion Lynn Henderson marked her return from injury with a solid performance at the companion Moray Half-Marathon running 1 hour 33 minutes and 18 seconds, the fastest time by a female Forfar RR this year.

This weekend will see a number of club members take part in the annual Ben Nevis Hill Race while the club’s penultimate six mile handicap time-trial of the year will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, at Suttieside.
