FORFAR Boys U-10s brought the curtain down on a successful season on Sunday with a double-header against a strong Broughty side.

In the first game Forfar dominated the first half and came close to scoring after three minutes when Jack Balfour’s shot was well saved by the visitors’ keeper.

Cameron Fleming then curled an effort round the post as the hosts pressed for the opener.

The visitors took the lead against the run of play on 14 minutes when Forfar failed to clear from a corner and the ball was fired into the net.

Lewis McSherry came close before Forfar finally grabbed an equaliser minutes before half-time when Robbie Davidson crossed for Jack Neave to beat the keeper from inside the box.

The second half totally belonged to the visitors as Forfar heads dropped after the visitors regained the lead in 21 minutes.

The home side were rattled and conceded another four goals before the final whistle.

The second game saw Forfar again start strongly and Robbie McLauchlan fired past the post in the second minute from an acute angle.

The Broughty keeper came to his side’s rescue when he saved from McLauchlan while he also pulled off fine stops to prevent Sean Tait and Calum Kelman from opening the scoring.

The visitors took the lead early in the second half but Forfar equalised in 31 minutes after a period of pressure when Liam Jones capitalised on a defensive error.

Four minutes later Broughty regained the lead when they beat Jamie Noble with a long-range effort.
