LAST Wednesday Forfar Road Runners staged the second in the series of six-mile handicap races over the Suttieside circuit.
Brian Bonnyman proved hard to beat yet again by topping the rankings in 35 minutes 51 seconds with Craig Stewart next best in 38 minutes. Sandra Pattie led home the ladies in 51 minutes 38 seconds.
Others to gain championship points include Ron Milne 42-11, Guy Sinclair 44-16, Mark Melnyk 44-44, Pauline Fairburn 54-05, Beverly Smeaton 54-19, Angie Mackenzie 57-35 and Sam Connelly 62-27.
Other runners completed one lap of the route to record points in the 5km category including Cath McInally 22-05, Ewan Greenhill 21-10, Heather Anderson 25-32, Billy Douglas 25-40, Marilyn Binnie 36-05, Karen Fletcher 36-05 and Donna Joiner 36-18.
Also on the same evening, almost 400 runners contested in the Auld Toon 10km in Dunfermline.
This hilly race round Pittencrieff Park was made even tougher by brisk winds with local representatives Donna Pass 45-23 and Angela Phillip 46-40 among the finishers.
This week’s training run (tonight) takes place from 6.30pm at the Leisure Centre and the route will be the Benzil, Lunanhead and Piscandly returning via the Montrose Road. New members are welcome.
On the fixture list in the coming weeks are Dechmont Law trail race on June 12, Aberdeen Beach 10km on June 14, West Highland Way Ultra on June 18, Finella Hill race in Drumtochty on June 25, Ythan Challenge and Lairig Ghru on June 26 and Milnathort Dash on June 30.
