Local kickboxing champion Bradley Hanmore defended his Scottish title at the WKA Scottish kickboxing championships last Sunday.

The competition was held at Ravenscraig sports facility in Motherwell which was well attended.

This tough event was also the qualifying tournament for the world championships which will be held in Tuscany, Italy later this year.

Representing Results Gym Junior Fight Team were Bradley Hanmore, who took gold and defended his Scottish title, as well as Brandon Hanmore and Andrew Short who also did very well, although both missed out on a podium finish.

Head coach George Bertie said: “This was a very tough event with some of the best fighters in the world in attendance, so to have one of our members become the defending Scottish champion and qualify to represent team Scotland is fantastic.

“Bradley was outstanding on the day and deserved to win his title and he fought a flawless final.

“Both Brandon and Andrew performed very well and will take the experience gained into their next tournament.

“Thanks to our sponsors Shorts Taxi hire for getting the team to the venue.”
