THE winners of the Dargie Rosebowl for the local players who went furthest in the annual open pairs competition of the ladies section of Kirriemuir Bowling Club were Wilma Burness and Sheena Reid.

They were presented with their award by president Margaret Wilson.

Wilma and Sheena, of course, won the tournament, defeating Arbroath pair Mary Thoms and Trixie McKay in a nail-biting final, by 14 shots to 13.

Meanwhile, recent action has seen Kirrie Ladies play host to Muirhead and Birkill in a friendly match, Kirrie winning by five shots.

Details were as follows (Kirrie skips first) - M. Scott 14, A. McGlinchey 14; K. McLellan 10, M. Kerr 8; C. Charlton 13, H. Nairn 10.

Another friendly match, played at home to Dudhope on Thursday of last week, saw Kirrie lose by 11 shots.

The latest Monday afternoon competition winners were Margaret Wilson, Jean Sutherland and Linda Wells (skip).

The prizes were donated and presented by president Margaret Wilson.
