MOLLY Redford received a pleasant surprise at the weekend when she came home from a Midlands District Training session.
Molly, who attends Southmuir Primary School in Kirriemuir, received official confirmation from the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association that she set a new Scottish record for the 11 years age group in the 100 metre individual medley.

She broke the record at the Midlands District sprint event back in September, only a month after turning eleven.

Recently Molly also set a new district record for 11 year old girls in the 800 metre freestyle.

Molly trains regularly with Dundee City Aquatics but many thanks must also go to local coaches in Kirriemuir and Forfar who provide a great opportunity for children to become involved in swimming.
