FORFAR West End have clinched a place in the final of this season's DJ Laing League Cup.
In their semi-final match last midweek the men from Strathmore Park cruised past Montrose Roselea, winning by four goals to nil.

A Lindsay Stewart double put the home side on track for a final berth and the result was put beyond doubt by further
strikes from Scott Johnston and Grant Lawson.

In the final, West will face Lochee United, who beat Dundee Violet by the odd goal in three in the other semi, played at Thomson Park, Dundee.

On Saturday, Forfar West End made their Super League debut when they visited Linlithgow Rose, a side managed by former Loons boss Brian Fairley.

There was little between the sides, with the homesters making sure of all three points with two late strikes. Sean Grady gave Rose the lead eleven minutes from time and Ian McSween made victory secure with an injury time strike.

This coming Saturday, West End are on their travels again, this time for a league encounter at Bo'ness United.

In the East Region North League, Kirrie Thistle did well to win by three goals to one at Arbroath SC.

Brian Forbes gave the home side the lead in five minutes, but Thistle hit back to win through strikes by Bruce Raffell, Stuart Farquharson and a trialist striker.

Forfar Albion went down by three goals to one at Montrose Roselea.

Steve Kerrigan gave Roselea an early advantage, but Albion hit back to level through Mark McIntosh.

Andrew Maiden had the Montrose side back in front by the break and Martin Christie added a third eleven minutes from time.

This Saturday, the league action sees Kirrie Thistle entertain Montrose Roselea and Forfar Albion head for Brechin Vics.
