THEY say variety is the spice of life.
Well, if that is the case then Forfar Road Runners' members can never be accused of being boring.
The roads pointed north at the weekend with the club represented at the Fyrish hill race with Angela Phillip finishing third lady in 72-09 over the
Evanton course.
On Sunday the Ythan Challenge attracted a field of over 400 runners.
The multi terrain 10 km race featured mud, water, hill and yet more mud.
The honours went to Brian Niblock in 56-19 who was first local home and Cath McInally 56-28, leading home the ladies picking up the first super vet title.
On his Ythan debut Jack Stephen finished in 58-44 with Donna Pass 61-26, Dave Douglas 63-35 and Pamela Horn 67-13 all bettering their previous bests.
This week sees another hectic spell for the club with a mixed bag of events.
Tuesday sees the club host the duathlon from Lunanhead substation, a four mile run followed by a 12 mile cycle.
On Wednesday the choice is between the Brig Bash 5 in Bridge of Earn or the club run over the Dundee Road, Whirlies, Glamis Road circuit.
On Friday, Dundee Road Runners stage the White Top hill race from Kirkton of Auchterhouse from 7.30 p.m. and the week is topped off with a championship counter over the hilly Stonehaven half marathon circuit.
Entries for the Forfar 10 km on August 17 are continuing to trickle in.
