The Forfar Farmington-USA Soccer Exchange is the latest recipient of a monthly £250 Forfar Roof Truss award - with 36 boys and girls from the town and surrounding area all set to embark on a trip to Connecticut, USA.

The exchange, organised by Forfar Farmington Football Club, has been on-going since 1980 - providing boys and girls in the area with the opportunity to travel to the USA and play football.

This year 36 boys and girls will, in July, embark on the two-week trip.

"It is a wonderful opportunity for these youngsters to experience a different culture," explains Forfar Farmington Football Club chairman Colin Brown. "They will live with an American family for two weeks, travel to New York and Boston, take part in various other trips and activities and play against various teams in the state of Connecticut.

"We have been involved in many fund-raising events ahead of the departure date on July 24," adds Mr Brown. "You can imagine that £4,000 is a lot of money to raise and we are very grateful for this latest donation."
