FORFAR Road Runners enjoyed a quieter week in preparation for the mass assault on Glasgow this Sunday - for the half-marathon.
Before that, though, the club host a six-mile handicap race on Wednesday, leaving Suttieside at 7 pm. All local runners will be made welcome.

On the results side, last Thursday saw local interest at the Cowal Highland Games, a three-day festival of traditional sporting endeavour.

Iain Anderson of Kirriemuir was placed sixth overall in the five kilometre road race, with Forfar Road Runner Davie Douglas finishing in 23:00.

Over the next few weeks local interest will centre on events at Ben Nevis Hill Race, the Stirling 10K on September 14, the Ceres eight-mile event on September 28, the Morven hill race on September 20 and the Dundee Marathon, on the same date.

Further race information is available from the club secretary on 01307 468293.
