KIRRIE Thistle and Forfar West End have been drawn in the same D. J. Laing League Cup section for season 2008-2009.
Indeed, the two teams will meet at Westview Park on Saturday, August 9, in the opening section game.

The other two teams in the section are Carnoustie and Arbroath Vics.
Forfar Albion, meanwhile, have to overcome challenges from Brechin Vics, Arbroath SC and Montrose Roselea if they are to progress to the knockout stages of the tourney.

Meanwhile, Stuart Farquharson was the top award winner in the Kirrie Thistle ranks for the season just past.

The front man won the player of the year, players' player of the year and top goal scorer awards, with Scott Russell named as fans' favourite and secretary Raymond Dyce voted clubman of the year.
