FORFAR Athletic's miserable March continued with a home drubbing at the hands of a slick Annan Athletic side on Saturday.
The Loons got off to a flying start and were in front after 15 minutes, Ian Harty finishing a superb move on the right with a low shot from six yards.
But Annan came roaring back, Sean O'Connor volleying home in 25 minutes and Graeme Bell getting the better of Steve Tulloch before burying a low shot past Ally Brown at his near post.
That's how things stood at the break, and after the home side were denied what looked a stone-wall penalty, Annan went to town.
The finishing in the last 20 minutes was clinical. Lewis Sloan slipped clear on the left to prod the ball past the onrushing Ally Brown into the net.
There was more than a hint of offside for the fourth goal but substitute Scott Anson made the most of it with a great finish, while his second and Annan's fifth three minutes from time came courtesy of a wonderful lob over the keeper from 30-odd yards out.
Forfar, having suffered three reverses on the trot, need to get their act together quickly, if they are not to squander a top-four finish.
They visit lowly Montrose this coming Tuesday with a derby win a must to get the wheels back on the wagon!
