FORFAR West End had to be content with a share of the spoils in a one-each home draw with Carnoustie Panmure in a DJ Laing League Cup section match on Saturday.
The Gowfers got off to a flying start, former Loon Jon Voigt firing them into the lead after only three minutes.

West were back on level terms just after the half hour mark when Grant Lawson took full advantage of a poor header back by a Carnoust
ie defender.

That was how it finished, but not before the visitors had been reduced to ten men - Brian Clark dismissed for a second yellow - and Jamie Sime had hit the post for the homesters.

Arbroath Vics are the surprise front-runners in the section, having defeated Kirrie Thistle by four goals to two at home on Saturday.

Scott Pearson was the home hero with a hat-trick, adding to a Lee Jones strike, Thistle's counters coming from Stuart Farquharson and Jan Atigan.

In section one, Forfar Albion lost out by the odd goal in five at Arbroath SC.

Dave Sturrock gave the home side the lead but Albion's Mark Storrie levelled matters.

Brian Forbes then put Arbroath back in front but back came Albion to level once again, this time through Andrew Miller.

Just when it looked as if the Forfar side had earned a share of the spoils, up stepped Billy Oldershaw to grab the winner deep into injury time.

The League Cup action continues this Saturday when Forfar Albion entertain Brechin Vics, Kirrie Thistle are at home to Carnoustie Panmure and Forfar West End head for Arbroath Vics.
