KIRRIEMUIR'S award-winning mine host Tracy Douglas is renowned for a her fund-raising skills - but her latest venture looks like topping the lot.
Numerous local and national groups have received donations from the popular publican who now runs the Oglivy Arms with her husband Graham.
Over the last few months the local hostelry has run monthly tombolas which have resulted in donations to a
Space School project in May, a day out for customers in June, and in July and August £600 each was raised for the Kirriemuir Beaver, Cubs and Scouts and Rainbows, Brownies and Guides respectively.
As she waits to hear how the Ogilvy Bar has faired in the Community Pub of the Year awards, Tracy is turning her attention to a major fund-raiser which takes place on Friday, November 28 in the Red House Hotel, Coupar Angus.
This black tie charity dinner will raise funds for the Kirriemuir Youth Project.
Tracy explained: "As we speak the tickets are at the printers.
"They are £30 each which includes a three course meal, a complimentary drink and entertainment from Trilogy."
Tracy has gone for something different for this fund-raiser and has secured the services of North Tayside MSP John Swinney who is the guest speaker, and Lady Strathmore who will be on hand to present prizes.
She has already received a number of notable prizes for the prize raffle including gifts from Tesco, Debenhams, Colin M. Smith, Kookaburras, the Royal Hotel and a pass for two at Piperdam.
She is delighted the top prize for a charity auction held on the night are two hospitality tickets donated by Coors Brewers for either Rangers or Celtic.
Tracy continued: "We are really hoping local businesses will make this dinner their Christmas night out.
"We have organised it for the Kirriemuir Youth Project because it is such a good project for the young people of the town."
