A LOCAL soldier found himself in the limelight during the annual Trooping The Colour ceremony earlier this month.
Scots Guardsman Craig McGregor, the son of Andrew and Liz McGregor, Forfar, played a leading role in the pageantry and spectacle of the annual Queen's Birthday Parade, held on Horse Guards Parade in London.

A former pupil of Langlands Primary School and Forfar Academy, Craig (aged 20), joined the Scots Guards in 2006 and is currently serving with F Company, stationed at Wellington Barracks in London.

Craig completed his training at Catterick Barracks and, just prior to Christmas, spent eight weeks on the Falkland Islands.

Having enjoyed the honour of taking part in Trooping The Colour, Craig is now heading back north, to stand guard at Edinburgh Castle for the next couple of weeks, ahead of some well earned leave!
