Youths for film and radio

Angus Council community learning and development service is looking for a dynamic team of 14-25 year olds who have an interest in creative media.

The service is working with 2Reel Creations to help young people develop their skills while providing experience in acting, film production, photography and animation.

2Reel Creations is a group of young people who produce films and or animations around youth issues. Most of the films and animation the group produces are made available on the national Young Scot website and on the 2Reel Creations You Tube channel.

The group work alongside the Inspire group, a youth journalist group, Radio Angus, a youth radio station and a soon to be set up drama group for young people forming a multimedia hub for young people living in Angus. The group is keen to hear from interested individuals as they have a number of projects they would like to carry out. Anyone aged 14-25 interested is invited to attend the meetings on a Thursday evening from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. at: Montrose Road Centre, Montrose Road, Forfar, DD8 2HT. Anyone who is unable to attend can also e-mail aya@angus.gov.uk for further information.

Meanwhile, the New Year will see a new Angus community radio station broadcasting across the internet.

Young people from Angus Youth Action, supported by Angus Council community learning and development service, are working together to set up the radio station and they are looking to recruit young people or adults to help develop the station. Further information will be available at an open meeting on Tuesday, October 29 at 7 p.m. at the Montrose Road Centre.
