Letters to the editor

Sir,

Having successfully persuaded Angus Council’s director of neighbourhood services to heed my plea for a clean up of litter on the B9128 from Restenneth Drive going south, mainly caused by two recycling green boxes being blown over in the wind, I now find, four weeks later, the litter is building up again!

How disappointing that some people still drop tins, cans, crisp packets and plastic bottles instead of being more community minded and taking all rubbish home to their own recycling bins.

Council departments have done their job to help, providing boxes and also a very good recycling centre.

I have also suggested that those on ‘Community Service’ could help remove the roadside litter.

Come on Forfar folk, with summer approaching and visitors coming to the town, please do your bit too and take some pride in your town and all roads leading into the town.

Keep Forfar tidy.

Yours etc.,

Avril Simpson, Field Studio, Welton Corner, Forfar.
