A spokesperson for the Murton Wildlife Trust said: “Come and enjoy a walk or leisurely stroll around our extensive nature reserve.

“Our beautiful lochs and wetlands are home to a wide variety of birds and wildfowl and there is a well-maintained network of paths that everyone can enjoy whatever the season.

“Our new tea room opens on Thursday, April 21 and it is the ideal place for you to take time out to relax or to meet a friend for coffee or lunch.

“We will be serving a delicious range of home cooking and baking, including scrumptious soups and daily specials using as much a locally sourced and seasonal produce in our dishes as we can and our menu will change regularly to reflect this.

“The tea room is situated at the edge of the farm, with a lovely view across the pond.

“At the front, overlooking the farm, we have a large decking area where you can enjoy your meal alfresco.

“Also opening on April, 21 is the new Murton Farm, giving you the chance to meet a very friendly collection of animals and birds, including Dennis and Gnasher the adorable Kune Kine pigs, Pollyanna the donkey and rare breed poultry.

“There will be petting times available for you to handle rabbits and guinea pigs along with meeting our newest additions to the Farm, Neville and Luna, our twin Kids.”
