Motorcyclist dies after collision with car on Angus road

A 56-year-old motorcyclist died after a collision with a car on an Angus road on Sunday afternoon.

The collision happened at about 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday, April 9) on the B9113 Forfar to Montrose road near Fledmyre Quarry and involved a black Triumph motorcycle and a beige Hyundai motor car.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The rider of the motorcycle, a 56-year-old man, was treated by ambulance service personnel but sadly died at the scene.

“Three occupants of the Hyundai car were taken to hospital and were released after treatment for minor injuries.

“The road was closed in both directions to allow investigation into the circumstances and was opened around 10.30pm.

“Officers are appealing to witnesses who may have been travelling on the B9113 and who may have seen either of the vehicles prior to the collision, or who have any information to assist with enquiries to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
