Thanks for caring

A Forfar family has contacted the Dispatch and Herald to pass on their thanks to local good Samaritans after their cat was found dead outside their home.

The McIntosh family of Halfpenny Burn contacted our office to explain that, last Tuesday, a gentleman and his young daughter went to their door after finding a black and white cat which was not moving.

The cat was the McIntosh’s family pet, Neelix, which had sadly died. The cat had no external injuries and no signs of a hit and run. The family did not get the man’s name but would like to thank him and his daughter, who was visibly upset, for their help.

They said: “We do not know what happened to Neelix but we would like to thank the person who put him there. We are thinking this other person did so, knowing someone in the row of houses alongside Halfpenny Burn would know who Neelix belonged to, rather than leaving him where they found him. We would like to think that this is what happened, the way he was positioned showed he had indeed been placed there.”
