TESCO staff will stand up to cancer with a new fund-raising campaign which has been launched by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.
‘Stand Up To Cancer’, also known as SU2C, will unite scientists, celebrities and communities in Forfar to generate funds, raise awareness and bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. It will culminate in a live fund-raising entertainment extravaganza on Channel 4 on Friday, October 19.
Tesco is the lead sponsor for ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ and the staff at Forfar will hold a dress down day with crazy hair in aid of the charity.
Tesco customers will be able to ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ by choosing from a range of products with a donation being made on their behalf, add a £1 donation to their shopping bill, purchase pins and wristbands and by donating pre-loved items into Tesco stores or directly to a Cancer Research UK shop for resale on October 20 and 21.
They will receive a money off voucher to spend on Tesco clothing and the store will then donate 25p for every voucher redeemed.
Cancer Research UK is Tesco’s Charity of the Year for 2012 and the Forfar staff, customers and suppliers are working hard to help raise the £10 million target throughout the year which will help to fund 32 early diagnosis research projects throughout the United Kingdom.
