Kirriemuir Library is moving to a temporary new home while the premises undergo a facelift.
The library will close at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, and reopen on Monday, June 10, at the old ACCESS Office, 5 Bank Street, Kirriemuir.
Although there will be a limited stock of books available during the move, the library’s four computers will be available to the public, along with the photocopier, newspaper area, and a room to hold groups.
The £176,557 upgrade will involve new lighting, layout, furniture and fittings, as well as a full redecoration of the library.
The staff workroom will be extended, and storage and facilities will be improved.
The library will re-open in October.
No items borrowed from Kirriemuir Library will incur overdue charges during the closure, and outstanding overdue charges will not increase during this period.
Angus libraries closest to Kirriemuir are Forfar Library, West High Street, and Brechin Library, St Ninian’s Square.
