Around 300 young musicians from across the region recently participated in the annual Angus schools’ bands and orchestras concerts.
Intensive weekly rehearsals began in September and culminated in a musical extravaganza over two evenings in the Reid Hall, Forfar and St Andrew’s Parish Church, Arbroath.
Young string, woodwind, brass and percussion players took to the stage in the Reid Hall to rapturous applause and performed a dazzling programme ranging from Bach to Batman.
The following evening, players of the senior string orchestra and wind band performed to a full house in St Andrew’s Parish Church, Arbroath.
The musicians are now taking a break until March, when they will be gearing up for a concert on March 27 in the Webster Memorial Theatre, Arbroath.
