Students from Angus College were celebrating after success in representing Tayside at the Scottish Track and Field Championship for People with a Disability at Grangemouth Stadium on Wednesday, September 7.
Students Gail Gibb (By Laurencekirk), Craig Morrison (Forfar), Tina Mitchell, Conar Hamilton, Kenny Mitchell, Alistair Kidd (all Arbroath), Ryan Scott-Wallace (Letham) and Kristin Weir (Brechin) were selected to take part following their success whilst representing Angus College at the Tayside Championships in May.
The athletes competed in events including the long jump, shot putt, 100m and 200m races.
In total the Angus students received one gold, three silver and two bronze medals. The group were accompanied by Supported Education lecturers Amanda Lyons and Craig Strachan who also coached the students throughout the last year.

“Sport and fitness provides an important part of the supported education curriculum at Angus College and an event like this really helps students to develop their potential within this area.”
