PUPILS at Strathmore Primary School and Nursery class have played their part in marking the imminent opening of the new ASDA superstore.

The supermarket giant, which will be neighbours of the school in St James Road, invited the children to give examples of life in the school in 2011 by burying a selection of their work in a time capsule.

The youngsters put together a wide range of items, from Scottish songs written and produced by the children last year to art books, nursery handbooks, schools handbooks and the school’s dinner menu.

Pupils from the school went along to the new store last Tuesday when they took part in burying the capsule, assisted by ASDA manager Robert Hallyburton.
