A KIRRIEMUIR teenager is to take a running jump – straight out of an aeroplane – to celebrate her 16th birthday.

Megan Guild, a fourth year pupil at Webster’s High has chosen to do a skydive in aid of CLIC Sargent to mark her birthday.

She turns 16 on Tuesday, February 22 and has booked her skydive at Errol airfield for Saturday, February 26.

The brave schoolgirl will start her journey back to earth from the dizzying heights of 10,000ft.

“I’m not scared yet,” she said.

“But I’ll probably feel nervous when it gets closer especially when I’m standing on the edge and about to jump.”

Megan aims to raise £1000 by undertaking the daunting challenge and is already more than half-way to that target.

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading children’s cancer and leukaemia charity.

They provide support every step of the way, whether providing specialist nurses during treatment, grants to help families financially or supporting those bereaved.
