The staff v pupils sporting series has continued in the new school year with cricket and basketball games.
First up was the cricket match in which the pupils ended up victorious after an eventful game.
However, the match was enjoyed by all with everyone chipping in to make it a memorable evening.
The Staff v Pupils basketball match was a joint venture to unveil the electronic scoreboard before the school basketball season begins and to raise funds for the forthcoming Valencia Trip.
Two great games of basketball were witnessed by a bumper crowd on Tuesday lunchtime in the Games Hall.
The female game was first up and the staff looked slightly nervous before tip off taking awhile to settle into the game. The pupils took an early lead but as the staff got into the swing of the game, it was a lot closer than the 18-6 scoreline indicated.
The second game was the mens game and in what was a very tight affair, the staff ran out 11-6 winners.
Overall the whole event was a major success and £57 was raised towards Valencia.
All the staff v pupils matches have been well received within the school and have included teachers from many subjects including Maths, English, Drama, Science, Technical and the Autstic Unit.
There have also been a large number of different pupils involved throughout the series, from new S1 pupils in the cricket match to S6 pupils in the football. The events have helped to create a postive ethos about sport around the school, not only for those involved but also for those who have been spectators.
Next up may be a badminton challenge, along with the netball grudge match as the staff try to salvage some pride.
