The relatives of a former resident of a Kirriemuir care home have donated a specially crafted garden bench in memory of their loved one, and as a thank you to staff for the special care she received.
The family of Charlotte Norrie attended a ceremony at Balhousie Lisden Care Home, Kirriemuir, to hand over the bench, which will be used and enjoyed by residents on fine days.
She lived at Balhousie Lisden Care Home, which is owned by Balhousie Care Group, from March 2008 until her passing in April 2012. Charlotte’s family attended the ceremony where they handed over the benches to the care home.
Helen Norrie, manager of Balhousie Lisden Care Home said: “We were pleased to receive the garden bench, which was kindly donated to the care home by the family of Mrs Norrie as a thank you for the care she received while she lived with us. Charlotte’s family can be assured the bench will be much appreciated and well used by our residents, who enjoy walking around our gardens when the weather is nice, and they will serve as a fitting tribute to a wonderful lady.”
Mrs Norrie was born in Angus and worked as a house maid. Balhousie Care Group now cares for more than 860 residents in 24 homes, with plans for continued expansion. New homes have opened recently in Coupar Angus and Dundee.
