Royal Mail delivered thousands of exam results on behalf of the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) yesterday (August 4).
Around 150,000 certificates dropped through the letterboxes of pupils across Scotland, more than 7000 of which were delivered to pupils in DD postcode area alone.
Postmen and women across the country made it a priority to ensure the eagerly-awaited results arrived as quickly as possible.
Derek Keir, head of special events planning, said: “Our people pull out all the stops to ensure the results are delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible as we know that this is a very important day for every pupil in Scotland awaiting results.
“Royal Mail is used to handling large mailings. We have already, this year, successfully delivered mailings for the general election. We have worked successfully with the SQA on exam result delivery for many years now and we are delighted to be playing our part in this special day once again.”
Special Royal Mail planning teams have worked for many months in preparation for the the smooth running of the deliveries.
