Singing workshop with Debra

Angus Folk are delighted to welcome Debra Salem as a guest tutor for an evening singing workshop in Kirriemuir next month.

It will be held on Tuesday, September 3 and will be an extended class - from 7p.m. to 10 p.m. - in Kirrie Old Parish Church Hall.

Debra is a choral director, educator, composer, singer/songwriter and arts administrator. She set-up and arranges the repertoire of the Craigie Community Choir in Perth. Much of Debra’s current vocal work is with Horsecross Arts in Perth. She has also developed groups for the NHS including a singing project for COPD sufferers. She is also Vocal Director of the Hallelujah Clown Choir at Draiocht in Dublin. As a singer Debra won a Danny Kyle award at Celtic Connections in 2008 and released a CD with a tour the following year. She writes music for theatre, with over 68 commissions for professional theatre in the UK and Ireland and for television and radio. She is an enthusiastic and inspiring workshop leader.
