Angus Council has today, October 4, evicted another tenant from her council house.
Forfar Sheriff Court granted the decree to evict, based on the tenant’s recent conviction for supplying drugs from her home in East Sunnyside, Forfar.
Last month, the council evicted a tenant from her council house in Glenmoy Terrace, Forfar for the same reason.
The council’s housing spokesperson councillor Jim Millar said: “With this second eviction within a matter of weeks, we are giving the clear message that the council will use the ultimate sanction of eviction when, as in this case, we have the evidence that allows us to do so.
“We are determined that there should be no hiding place for those who peddle drugs in our communities, and we will not hesitate to evict those who break their conditions of tenancy in this way.
“The council will continue to work with partner agencies, including the Angus Community Safety Partnership, Tayside Police, and local residents to free our communities from the blight of anti-social behaviour by a minority of tenants.”
