With gardens now beginning to burst in to life it is that time of the year again to think ahead to the Forfar Flower Show.
The 115th annual flower show and exhibition run by Forfar Horticultural Society will take place in the Reid Hall, Forfar on Friday and Saturday, August 29 and 30.
Schedules listing details of all the categories are now available.
In his annual report Chairman Les Craib said: “With December the wettest for 100 years and January and February the same, we have to wonder what awaits for the remainder of the growing season.
“As usual I am confident that the gardeners of Angus will still come up with first class exhibits when the Forfar Show gets underway.
“The staff at the premature baby unit at Ninewells Hospital are very grateful for all the cardigans, hats, mitts and booties which were handed in from exhibitors and friends of the society.
“The society is greatly indebted to the many sponsors who donate towards the show and the committee joins with me in thanking them all for their continued support.
“On a personal note, I would like to thank the committee for the honour bestowed on me last August for showing at Forfar for 50 years. I look forward to seeing you all at the Reid Hall in August.”
As usual this year there are classes for pot plants, roses, dahlias, early flowering chrysanthemums, gladioli, cut flowers, fruits, vegetables, honey, baking, preserves and wine.
