Scene set for Edzell gala day

Edzell Gala Day takes place on Saturday August 4 this year.

It is set to be a busy gala, with so many requests for places for stalls and entertainments that bookings are now closed.

Radio North Angus will be there on the day to keep the entertainment going along with Howe O’ The Mearns Pipe Band.

The day starts at 12 noon at Inglis Hall with the crowning of the Gala Queen.

Nominations for Gala Queen are invited for local girls aged 16-18 years – submit nominations to EVIS at the usual address.

The Gala Parade along the High Street will have the traditional Fancy Dress Parade which everyone is invited to come along and join in.

This year the Fancy Dress has been extended to include bikes – so you can dress up yourself or you can dress up your bicycle and wheel it along in the Gala Procession.

There will be other events during Gala Week which it is hoped will include the traditional Family Bingo Night but unfortunately ‘Bingo Bob’ can’t be with us that night and EVIS are looking for a volunteer Bingo Caller for Wednesday August 8. Anyone able to help is asked to contact EVIS.
