A weather warning for rain has been issued by the Met Office for Angus this Saturday (October 15).
The yellow ‘be aware’ alert was issues on Thursday morning, with the warning saying: “Showers will merge into longer periods of occasionally heavy rain during Friday and again on Saturday across the northeast of Scotland. This will gradually lift river levels in Tayside, Dundee and Angus, and to a lesser extent Fife and Aberdeenshire, to bring some minor river flooding for Saturday.
“In addition, be aware of the risk of surface water flooding and spray on roads. The rain will gradually clear away to the north later on Saturday.
The Chief forecaster’s assessment said: “An easterly airstream will bring frequent showers to eastern Scotland on Friday. Given recent dry weather, this looks unlikely to produce any impacts initially. However, it is likely to leave conditions more saturated such that the arrival of more persistent rain, in association with a frontal system, brings a greater risk of flooding on Saturday. Over a 48 hour period 20-40 mm rainfall could occur quite widely, with 60-100 mm perhaps accumulating over some east-facing hills.”
