Prize for design competition kids

ANGUS Talking Newspaper Association, currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, held a design competition for a new logo open to all P6 and P7 pupils in primary schools throughout Angus.

The logo will be used on the CDs, a new pamphlet which is being developed and letterheads.

Due to the diamond jubilee and Olympic celebrations only two schools took part - Liff Primary School and Hayshead School, Arbroath.

Liff School had such a high standard they decided to include P5 pupils.

The judging proved difficult and it was decided that two highly Ccmended should be chosen - Emily Wallace (P7) of Hayshead School, and Skye Evans (P5) of Liff.

Two runners-up were Paddy Hunt and Sally Soutar, both (P5) and the winner was Orla Mcgrath (P6), all of Liff Primary. Elizabeth Mountford, secretary of Angus Talking Newspaper Association, attended Hayshead Primary School and Liff Primary School last week to present the prizes.
