Graeme Dey, MSP for Angus South and Mike Weir, Angus MP, have met with Kevin Lynch, the recently appointed Chief Superintendent of Tayside Police’s eastern division.
At the meeting they discussed the challenges facing local policing in the county.
Graeme Dey said: “As an MSP I feel it is essential to have a good working relationship with the police locally.
“The lines of communication as well as the co-operation between myself and the previous Easter Division hierarchy were excellent and I very much look forward to working in a similarly productive way with Chief Superintendent Lynch, especially as we head into what are changing times for policing across Scotland.
“Our meeting covered a range of issues pertaining specifically to Angus South as well as the move towards a single national police force.”
Mike Weir MP added: “Obviously policing is a devolved matter but the delivery of police services to our communities is very important and as the local MP it was good to meet Chief Superintendent Lynch and discuss issues of mutual concern.”
