ANGUS Council has asked for the authority to give the go ahead for a new affordable housing project at Inveraldie.
The project, which would provide five new homes for affordable rental, is estimated to cost £780,000. A total of £138,000 of this amount will come from the Scottish Government Affordable Housing Grant and £642,000 from the HRA Capital budget.
It is proposed that the houses will be on the site adjacent to Dalziel Court which originally contained council-owned garages.
Colin McMahon, director of corporate services, said: “As part of the Scottish Government’s affordable housing programme Angus Council has made a number of successful bids for grant funding.
“This funding will allow Angus Council to provide urgently needed new affordable rented housing to meet current and increasing future demands. The five new affordable houses proposed for Inveraldie are an integral part of the programme and are part of the Housing Division’s new affordable housing provision.
“Angus Council had developed a model design which is being replicated, in part or in whole, at other locations within Angus as the planned programme of developments is taken forward.”
