Picnic plays at Scotland’s castles

PDF Productions are delighted to announce a trio of exciting summer shows. Three literary classics will be performed in the stunning settings of Glamis, Drum and Crathes Castles.

Producer Peter Ferguson anticipates a full house for the outdoor dramas.

He said: “It is with great pleasure that we are bringing back to Scotland some of the best-loved plays in some of the most majestic settings the country has to offer.  There is nothing more relaxing than a picnic, glass of wine and great entertainment to satisfy a summer evening.  We work with only the best theatre companies to produce excellent theatre Scotland cries out for year on year.”

Firstly, at Glamis Castle, is children’s favourite ‘The Jungle Book’. All of the animal characters are brought to life to create an enchanting musical show for children of all ages. Rudyard Kipling’s best-known story will be a real summer hit for all the family. Next, there will be a specially-adapted performance of ‘The Three Musketeers’. This will be followed by Jane Austin classic ‘Pride and Prejudice’, which will be performed at Crathes Castle on Royal Deeside. The audience can step back in time and lose themselves in this unforgettable love story. Audiences can enjoy both performances in a beautiful castle setting whilst enjoying an al fresco picnic.
