PLANS are in place for the third Lowson Memorial Church calendar, with an appeal going out to budding photographers to get snapping local scenes.
For the last two years images of Forfar and district have been sent around the world as part of the major LIFE calendar fund-raising drive.
All the money raised will go to towards the church improvements through the Lowson Improvement Fund-Raising Effort.
Some of the team behind the calendar met at the church on Monday to launch the 2013 calendar photograph appeal.
Maureen Lennon said: “We are asking people to send in their photographs as soon as possible as we are hoping to publish the calendar in June, ready for the shelves in July.
“We are looking for A4 (210 x 297 mm) paper print entries of a landscape form on photographic paper, with the location and the photographer’s name, address and telephone number on the back.”
There are no limitations on subject matter as the calendar is not seasonal.
Street scenes are always popular and prove a real talking point, and wildlife photographs are also accepted as long as there is some indication as to where the picture is in Forfar.
Maureen added: “The competition is open to everybody.
“We have a 16 and under section and a section for 16 and over.”
Entries should be submitted by Sunday, June 3 in envelopes marked “Calendar Competition” and sent to Lowson Memorial Parish Church, Jamieson Street, Forfar, DD8 2HY.
Entries can also be handed to Maureen Lennon, Hazel McKenzie-Milne or Mary Wyllie.
