There will be some festive cheer for local families next month, thanks to the latest £250 sponsorship cheque from the Forfar Roof Truss Company.

Run in conjunction with the Forfar Dispatch, the cheque was presented on Friday to the Forfar Musical Society.

In its application the Society explained the money will be used to provide free tickets to its pantomime - Cinderella - for disadvantaged members of the Forfar community.

Marley Hunter, cast member, said: “Your donation will enable us to offer free tickets to our shows to disadvantaged groups who would not normally be able to attend a show, such as a musical or a pantomime.

“We were able to provide 20 free tickets last year through the fundraising efforts of some of our members and your donation would allow us to build on this and offer as many as 42 tickets for families who would not be able to go.”

Every month the Forfar Roof Truss Company Limited, in conjunction with the Forfar Dispatch and Kirriemuir Herald, kindly donates a £250 sponsorship cheque to a group or individual in the Forfar and Kirriemuir areas.

If your group or organisation could use £250, then write to ‘Forfar Roof Truss Company Sponsorship Project’, c/o Angus County Press Limited, 21 Market Place, Arbroath, DD11 1HR. Accompanying your application should be details on how the £250 could be used. Please include a telephone number.
