The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has announced that NHS Tayside has been chosen as one of the organisations it will be partnering to pilot a system of revalidation for nurses and midwives,

RCN Scotland Director Theresa Fyffe said: “As the regulator of nurses and midwives, the NMC is planning to introduce revalidation to check that the people on its register are up to date and fit to practise throughout their careers.

“We’re pleased that NHS Tayside has been chosen as one of the first group of organisations to test the NMC’s proposed model for revalidation and we will work closely with the Board throughout this time.

“It is important, however, that these pilots reflect the wide range of settings in which nurses work.”
