FORFAR Academy’s annual sponsored walk round Forfar Loch looks set to be another winner, with around £10,000 raised for charity and a new school record set in the process.
The last day of the school term prior to the October holidays is the day that the whole school, including some teachers, turns out to pound round the loch for funds.
Pupils have the choice of walking or running and the first placed boy and girl overall won the Jan Wilson memorial trophies, donated to the school by Drew and Margaret Wilson.
Adam Hoggan finished first for the boys in 40 minutes and eight seconds, with Robbie Gooderham finishing second in 41 minutes 51 seconds and Robert Clarke finishing third in 43 minutes and 30 seconds.
Erin Brown took first for the girls with a school record of 45 minutes and 56 seconds.
Second was Rowan Ramage on 58 minutes and 40 seconds and Erin Thomson was third in 59 minutes and 20 seconds. The fastest first years were Paul Rennie in 47 minutes 59 seconds and Erin Thomson.
Mr Taylor was the fastest member of staff in 46 minutes 42 seconds. Sponsorship money continues to come in for what was another successful fund-raising effort by the school.
