Balhousie Care Group has appointed Alison Miller as the new manager of its Lisden care home in Kirriemuir.
Alison has been with the Balhousie Lisden Care Home for 12 years, having started working at the home as a staff nurse and gradually worked her way up the ladder.
She completed her training as a registered nurse at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, in 1992 and held various posts in care homes throughout Forfar before joining Lisden in 2001.
Alison said she was pleased to have been appointed as care home manager after many years with the Balhousie Care Group team. She added: “My main focus will be to maintain the high level of care we have for all of our residents and to make sure that Lisden continues to be a real part of the local community.
“I am truly passionate about Lisden care home having worked here for a many years and also having been part of the community for all of my life.
“I will be doing my very best to enable our residents to live as full a life as possible.”
Away from work, Alison enjoys spending time with her husband, Keith, and daughter, Sarah-Jane, and walking the family dog, a black Labrador called Bruar.

“Alison has a huge wealth of experience in care homes and has been with Balhousie for many years so is very well suited to the role.”
Balhousie Lisden Care Home was the original Balhousie care home, opened in 1991 by founder Tony Banks. Today it provides residential, respite and nursing care for up to 41 residents in an elegant building.
Since the opening of its first home, Balhousie Care Group has grown through acquisition and new builds to 27 homes – bringing the residential capacity to more than 1,100 across Perthshire, Dundee, Fife, Angus and Aberdeenshire.
