Lisden Care Home in Kirriemuir has welcomed a new manager to its ranks, with Elaine Robertson joining the Balhousie team recently.
Elaine comes from a nursing background, bringing with her a vast amount of experience from within a care home setting.
Passionate about dementia care and support, Elaine has the experience and drive to be able to continue the push forward for best practice in relation to person-centred dementia care for residents.
She regards personalised care as important, as well as the retention of as much independence as possible for residents, as key to continuing health and happiness.
She said: “I intend to ensure that my residents are enabled to retain as much independence as possible. All of the staff team here at Lisden have a sense of involvement, and are encouraged to adopt a person-centred approach when carrying out their duties, which creates a more family-orientated feel.”
As manager, Elaine’s main aims are to create a welcoming, homely and happy environment for her residents.
In-keeping with the Balhousie Care Group’s ethos, Elaine believes in person-centred, tailored care, to ensure residents have a sense of self-worth and good quality of life.
