Looking for distant relative

A MAN has contacted the Dispatch looking for information on his late father’s cousin.

After reading an article on our Memory Lane page, John Saddler spotted a distant relative of his, Sandy Saddler, who was his late father’s cousin.

John said: “My father left Forfar for India in 1938 when our family still owned the bakery on East High Street. My dad and his three brothers were born above the shop. All four brothers of his; James, Norman, Bill and Archie have now passed away and I am really interested in finding out more about Bill, RAF Sergeant Navigator William G F Saddler. He was shot down and killed with his Lancaster crew over Berlin in November 1943.”

John added: “I wonder if there is anyone still alive who might remember Bill as a boy and young man. I would love to talk to them and discover what he was like.”

Anyone who has any information about Bill can email news@forfardispatch.com
